Barovier & Toso Filigrana Picture Frame, Murano, c.1940

A large 'filigrana' picture frame from the Muranese masters at Barovier & Toso. Produced in the early 40s, this wonderful brass frame features strands of white glass that twist within the clear 'torciglione glass frame. Signed on the reverse, 'Barovier & Toso', this is a beautiful piece of Italian craftmanship from a bygone age.
