Melchiorre Bega (attrib.) Writing Desk

A stained, solid walnut writing desk attributed to the architect and designer Melchiorre Bega. The desk has soft, rounded corners and features beautiful, decorative ‘reeding’ around its perimeter. A useful, small drawer with a carved, circular pull sits on the right whilst the tapered legs become slightly outswept at the base adding elegance to a very desirable piece of early 1940s Italian design.
